“Do you remember, 21st night of September…”
Greetings to all of our groovy MAPS Volunteers! The Volunteer Schedule for September 2012 is now available (click!) for all of our volunteers who have requested to conduct patient safety observations in what will be the last Summer Month of optional volunteering. (Remember, once October comes around and the UCLA academic school year starts, volunteering becomes required again!)
If you have volunteered with us all summer and wish for it to count toward your one-year commitment with us, please email us reminding us of your intention to include your summer volunteering as part of your commitment, and we will be sure to account for it.
Otherwise, we are looking forward to seeing all of our regular volunteers back with us once October comes around!
Thank you to all of our volunteers who have made MAPS possible in the summer. Truly, you have helped sustain a student-based program during a time of student vacation, and with your efforts, our efforts to maximize patient safety has not taken a break this year. In fact, our MAPS Reports for June and July compiled over 4000 observations–truly an accomplishment considering that we have only had a handful of volunteers! Thank you to everyone who has helped us gather such astounding numbers for summer volunteering.
As always, Dr. Vespa shadowing is available upon your request. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested (instructions for this shadowing process can be found in the Dr. Vespa link atop our website). As of right now, all weeks of September except the first week are available for shadowing.
Thank you again to all of our wonderful summer volunteers, and I hope to see ALL of our volunteers soon! Enjoy the end of this summer, which is certainly a summer in which there “never was a cloudy day!”
