Thanks to all of you who came to meeting Wednesday night!
First, congrats to our Volunteers of the Month! Some of you had midterms and couldn’t make it. We gave out prizes (Giftcards) to our Volunteers of the Month. Please email us so that we can meet up and give you the awards and prizes in person!
April 2015: Max Kaito and Jenna Fox
May 2015: Margaret Huang and Bridgette Ho
June 2015: Liang Yen (Larry) Liu and Codi Young
Secondly, our application to become an Intern Coordinator will be due by Wednesday, October 28th 11:59pm. If you have any questions or concerns, email email@example.com.
Thirdly, we are accepting applications for the Fall Ambassador Program. We accept them on a rolling basis. For more information, check out on this link: https://uclamaps.wordpress.com/maps-fall-ambassador-program/.
Our Quarterly MAPS General Meeting will be today (Wednesday 11/21) from 5-6pm in Room 3-3102. At this meeting, we will be announcing the Volunteers of the Month, introducing you to the Fall Ambassador Program, and will be detailing the Intern Application for those of you who are interested in becoming part of the MAPS leadership team. ***Remember that this meeting is mandatory and a part of your list of volunteer responsibilities.
It was great seeing many of you Wednesday evening!
For all interested volunteers: When you volunteer for MAPS, you are part of the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center (RRMC) and will need to be cleared from the RRMC Volunteer Office. This process entails a lot of paperwork, such as writing the essay for your application, getting TB shots, and showing proof of immunizations. Direct Referral Sessions also fill up fast. All this takes up to a few weeks.
Our suggestion to prospective volunteers is to get all that paperwork done in this Fall Quarter. After you have obtained your volunteer jacket and ID badge, you can email us so that we can put you on the emailing list for Winter 2016 training session dates.
That being said, the Fall 2015 Recruitment Period is over, so be on the lookout for Winter Quarter!
